Transparent Potting Compound Application Procedures and Residual Compound Storage and Disposal Methods

2026-04-10 - Leave me a message

The application process of transparent potting compounds directly affects their final performance. The application procedure is basically the same as that of ordinary potting compounds. Strictly following the product instructions can effectively ensure bonding, sealing, and insulation effects.

I. Key Operational Points in the Application Process

1. Proper Substrate Surface Treatment: Before application, thoroughly clean the surface of the workpieces to be bonded, removing moisture, oil, dust, and other impurities. Incomplete surface cleaning will directly reduce the adhesive's bonding strength. It is recommended to use a dedicated solvent for wiping and cleaning, and to allow the substrate to dry completely before potting.

2. Single-Component Nozzle Cut as Needed: If using single-component transparent potting compounds, the nozzle should be cut appropriately according to the actual amount of adhesive needed and the nozzle diameter to control the dispensing volume.

3. Uniform Speed Injection, Fully Filling Gaps: Maintain a slow and uniform speed when injecting the adhesive. Utilize the low shrinkage characteristics of the compound to fully fill the gaps and cavities between components, ensuring complete adhesion between the adhesive and the substrate to achieve the ideal bonding and sealing effect.

4. Controlling the Construction Environment: The ambient temperature for applying the adhesive should be maintained between 5-40℃. Avoid construction in excessively dry or high-humidity environments. It is also recommended to choose reliable potting compounds from suppliers with strong R&D capabilities to obtain customized application solutions. These products are suitable for use in various fields such as new energy, military, medical, aerospace, shipbuilding, electronics, automotive, instrumentation, power supply, and high-speed rail.

II. Storage and Handling of Unused Adhesive

1. Immediate Sealing and Proper Storage: Unused potting compounds must be sealed immediately and stored in a cool, ventilated, and dry place, away from moisture and humidity. Direct sunlight is strictly prohibited. Keep out of reach of children to prevent accidental use or other hazards.

2. Standard Storage and Time-Limited Use: Transparent potting compounds are not hazardous materials and do not require special storage conditions. Under proper storage conditions, use them within the product's shelf life. If the shelf life has expired, test the adhesive properties first. If no abnormalities are found, then proceed with standard application procedures.
