Purpose and method of use of thermal conductive adhesive

2023-06-22

Thermally conductive adhesive has good thermal conductivity and high-grade pressure resistance, good adhesion, good adhesion to aluminum, copper, stainless steel, polycarbonate (PC) and other materials, excellent dielectric properties, Good heat resistance, general use temperature range -50℃~200. Thermally conductive adhesive is an adhesive product with bonding and sealing functions, which has multiple curing methods such as single/two-component, thermally conductive, room temperature curing/heat curing/catalyst-promoted.

The use of thermal conductive adhesive:

1. Heat dissipation bonding and fixing of LED drive module components and shell; sizing of high-power LED products, such as high-power LED floodlights, LED street lights, LED power supplies, LED underwater landscape lights, LED point light sources, and LED indoor downlights Adhesives such as bonding with the bracket, bonding and fixing the PCB board and the heat-dissipating aluminum sheet;

2. Because the glue has strong adhesion to the metal surface and is not easy to peel off, it is widely used in the bonding and sealing of PTC sheets and aluminum heat sinks, as well as the coating and fixing of plug-in wires or sheets on the surface of sensors;

3. It is mainly used in CPU radiators, heat dissipation between thyristors, chips and heat sinks, heat conduction adhesive for heat dissipation of electric iron soleplates, heat conduction of transformers and fixing of electronic components, followed by filling;

4. Thermal adhesive replaces the traditional card and screw connection;

5. Thermally conductive adhesive is now widely used in the production of the electronics industry. It can quickly dissipate heat for the chip heating element and prolong its service life.

How to use thermal adhesive:

1. Surface treatment: Remove loose substances on the surface of the substrate to clean the surface and keep the surface clean;

2. Glue application: One-component sizing is simplified. If it is two-component A and B, fully mix A and B until uniform, and use it up within the specified usable time. The remaining glue cannot be reused;

3. Apply the mixed AB thermal adhesive on the surface of the treated substrate, apply even force when applying, and press repeatedly to ensure that the material is in full contact with the surface of the substrate to achieve the desired effect.

Curing requirements

1. Clean the surface: Clean up the surface of the glued or coated object to remove rust, dust and oil.

2. Glue application: unscrew the cap of the rubber tube, squeeze the glue onto the cleaned surface to make it evenly distributed, and then close and fix the glued surface.

3. Curing: Put the glued or sealed parts in the air to let them cure naturally. The curing process is a curing process from the surface to the inside. Within 24 hours (at room temperature and 55% relative humidity), the glue will be cured to a depth of 2-4mm. The time to complete cure will be extended, and if the temperature is lower, the cure time will also be extended.

Before further processing or packaging the bonded parts, the user is advised to wait long enough for the strength and integrity of the bond not to be affected.
