One- and Two-Component Potting Compounds

The advantage of one-component potting glue is that it is convenient for construction and does not require large investment in equipment. However, because the curing of the one-component potting glue is from the surface to the inside, there is a problem of slow curing for the glue point with a large potting depth, which leads to a longer construction period.

The two-component potting glue requires professional glue mixing equipment for sizing. The curing speed is fast, and the elastomer can be formed in a short time, which is more suitable for continuous production in the workshop. Therefore, most factories use two-component potting glue.


Ordinary potting compound and heat conduction potting compound

Ordinary potting adhesives have a thermal conductivity of 0.2W/(m·K) and have good fluidity. They are mainly used for covering and positioning of components, and play the role of shockproof, waterproof, and dustproof.

Thermally conductive potting adhesive is a product modified by adding thermally conductive fillers on the basis of ordinary potting adhesives. The thermal conductivity is generally above 0.4 W/(m·K), and can even reach 1.5 W/(m·K). However, as the thermal conductivity increases, the fluidity of the potting compound also shows a downward trend. Thermally conductive potting adhesives are mainly used for potting and sealing protection of power supplies that require high heat dissipation. When selecting thermally conductive potting adhesives, there are generally requirements for the flame retardant performance of the product, and the flame retardant grade of the product is required to reach V-1 or above. It has a good flame retardant and heat conduction effect, and ensures the safety of power supply products.
