Thermal pad, also known as thermally conductive silicone pads, thermally conductive silicone sheets, soft thermally conductive pads, thermally conductive silicone gaskets, etc., are specially produced for the design scheme of using gaps to transfer heat, which can fill gaps and complete the gap between the heating part and the heat dissipation part. At the same time, it also plays the role of insulation, shock absorption, sealing, etc., which can meet the design requirements of miniaturization and ultra-thinning of equipment. It has processability and usability, and has a wide range of thicknesses. It is an excellent thermal conductive filling material. Advantages of thermally conductive pads

1. The material is soft, the compression performance is good, the thermal conductivity and insulation performance are good, and the thickness can be adjusted in a relatively large range, suitable for filling the cavity, with natural viscosity on both sides, and strong operability and maintainability.

2. The main purpose of selecting the thermal pad is to reduce the contact thermal resistance between the surface of the heat source and the contact surface of the heat sink, and the thermal pad can fill the gap between the contact surfaces well.

3. Since air is a poor conductor of heat, it will seriously hinder the transfer of heat between the contact surfaces and installing a thermal pad between the heat source and the radiato can squeeze the air out of the contact surface.

4. With the addition of thermal pads, the contact surface between the heat source and the radiator can be better and fully contacted, and face-to-face contact can be truly achieved. The temperature response can be as small as possible.

5. The thermal conductivity of the thermal pad is adjustable, and the thermal conductivity is better.

6. The process tolerance of the thermal pad in the structure is bridged, and the process tolerance requirements of the radiator and the heat dissipation structural parts are reduced.

7. The thermal conductive gasket has the effect of shock absorption and sound absorption and insulation performance (this feature needs to be added with appropriate materials during production).

Tips for choosing thermal pad

1.  First confirm the dimensions of the heating electronic components and heat sink components and select the thermally conductive silicone gasket based on the larger surface. This increases the contact surface and can conduct heat conduction more effectively.

2. Select a thermal pad with a suitable thickness, and select an appropriate thickness according to the distance between the heat source and the radiator. If it is a single heating device, it is recommended to use a thin thermal pad, which can obtain lower thermal resistance and improve the heat conduction effect; if multiple heating devices are gathered, it is recommended to use a thick thermal pad, which can be used with A single thermal pad covers multiple heat-generating components, even if the components are of different heights.

3. The thermal pad has compressibility. When selecting the thermal pad, it can be appropriately selected to be slightly thicker, so that after the thermal pad is installed, it can properly reduce the thermal conductivity. Contact thermal resistance, improve heat conduction effect.
