Thermal grease is also called thermal grease and thermal paste. It is a thermally conductive silicone grease-like compound made of organic silicone as the main raw material, adding materials with excellent heat resistance and thermal conductivity. A type of material used to fill the gap between the CPU and the heat sink, also known as thermal interface material. Its function is to conduct the heat emitted by the CPU to the heat sink, keep the temperature of the CPU at a level that can work stably, prevent the CPU from being damaged due to poor heat dissipation, and prolong its service life.

In heat dissipation and heat conduction applications, even two flat surfaces with very smooth surfaces will have gaps when they come into contact with each other. The air in these gaps is a poor conductor of heat and will hinder the conduction of heat to the heat sink. And thermal grease is a kind of space that can fill these gaps, so that the conduction of heat is smoother and faster.


It is almost never cured, and it can maintain the grease state when used for a long time at the temperature of -50-+230. It not only has excellent electrical insulation, but also has excellent thermal conductivity, and has low freeness (tends to zero), high and low temperature resistance, water resistance, ozone resistance, and weathering resistance. It can be widely applied to various electronic products, the contact surface between the heating body (power tube, thyristor, electric heating stack, etc.) and the heat dissipation facilities (heat sink, heat dissipation strip, shell, etc.) Heat transfer medium and moisture-proof, dust-proof, anti-corrosion, shock-proof and other properties.

It is suitable for surface coating or overall potting of various microwave devices such as microwave communication, microwave transmission equipment, microwave special power supply, regulated power supply, etc. This kind of silicon material provides excellent thermal conductivity for electronic components that generate heat.

But it also has shortcomings. Thermal grease is difficult to apply without any bubbles. Many electronic components will have temperature cycles (temperature from low to high and then from high to low, such as PC) when working. Thermal expansion and cold contraction will cause The air bubbles in the silicone grease change in volume so that the silicone grease is squeezed out of the gap, and the silicone grease is squeezed out after the thermal cycle.


1. Clean the surface to be coated to remove oil stains.

2. Then extrude the thermal conductive silicone grease directly and evenly coat it on the surface to be coated.

3. On the premise of ensuring that the gap is filled, the thinner the better. Overcoating is not beneficial, but will affect the heat transfer efficiency.
